Upon arrival in our works all heads are stripped down & cleaned using the latest chemical cleaning machines. All parts are inspected & calibrations taken & recorded where necessary.

We have the facility for machining valves & seats using specialised air & electrically operated portable grinding machines. These are capable of operating to the finest tolerances which often negates the need for lapping.

This is particularly important on some of the modern day cylinder covers where engine manufacturers state that grinding of valves to seats is not to be carried out.

Critical faces are NDT crack detected & the cover pressure tested to 7bar as standard.

Customers are made aware of any spare parts that may be required or additional work needed before completion.

Upon completion report sheets are prepared detailing all works undertaken, spare parts used & any relevant calibrations taken.

We currently carry out cylinder cover overhauls for various shipping / utility companies. Overhauls are undertaken as “one offs” or as complete engine sets in conjunction with major overhauls.

As turnaround time is of the up most importance our staff will react as necessary to the customers individual requirements ensuring all goods are always despatched in time to meet commercial commitments.
